Ladin is an antich “rhaeto romanic” language and it has its origins in latin language. This language was spoken by the former inhabitants, initially transmitted just orally and later also in written form. Through the ladin language, many traditions and customs of Val Gardena have been maintained. The language not only enriches the culture but also the daily life of the people. In addition to the individual language, wood carving is one of the best known and most interesting features of our Valley.
